Jonah 3 – The Gospel is very good news, but the good news does not make sense without the bad news. In Jonah 3, God’s prophet Jonah is called to proclaim the bad news of God’s coming judgment with Nineveh so that they will be warned and turn to the Lord. We’ve also been called to proclaim a similar message to the world as the church. The bad news is that God’s judgment is coming for sin, but the good news is that God most delights in being merciful. When sinners repent, God will relent.
