Mark 6:1-30: This passage reveals that following Jesus means proclaiming the gospel with boldness, even in the face of rejection, suffering, and loss. Jesus was dishonored in His hometown and John was beheaded, yet Jesus continued His mission and sent out His disciples to do the same. Jesus has also commissioned us to go proclaim the gospel. The question this passage challenges us with is, “Are you willing to lose your honor and even your head for Jesus’ sake?”
